Became known, when Ukraine will begin to build toll roads

Negotiations with investors and tender procedure will take place in 2018-2019.

The construction of toll roads Lviv – Krakovets and Kiev, the White Church will not begin before 2019. The journalists said the Minister of infrastructure Vladimir Omelian.

“We are working on concession of Ukrainian roads, the so-called toll roads to be built to existing free. Now developed a feasibility study for the two potential sites is a Lviv-Kiev-White Church. Then we can move on to communicating with potential investors and to conduct tender procedures. We expect that they will continue through 2018, and in 2019 we can talk about the beginning of physical work”, – said Omeljan.

According to him, the process slows down by several factors. In particular, according to the Minister, in European practice – 90% of funding provided by the state, and secondly, the traffic of cars in Ukraine is quite low.

“The road Fund can be a guarantee of repayment to the investor in case of lack of traffic. It is a transparent formula that works everywhere in Europe. I hope that the first pilots are successful, the areas from 50 to 100 km long, and then we can talk about an effective model for toll roads of Ukraine”, – he added.
