Avakov denied information about the conflict with Poroshenko

The Minister said that they have friendships and friendly relations since the independence.

The Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov has denied media reports that he had a conflict with President Petro Poroshenko due to the actions of the police during the rally on October 17.

“No conflict with President of Ukraine I have. We are quite a friendly call, our relations are quite friendly and I would say friendly, if I may say so about the relationship of the Minister and the President,” he said in comments to channel 112.

Avakov said that such a relationship has been established between them since the days of the revolution of dignity.

“However, I have my own point of view on a range of issues, and it’s my job this point to promote, and the work of the President and other functionaries, this point of view to discuss. The fact that senior government figures from time to time gather and discuss topical issues – this is normal. Indeed, all these discussions do not occur smoothly, but occur within a normal working discussion. Such that Ah, they had a fight and threw each other a glass of water – it is not. A glass of water – only one [Saakashvili],” said he.

Recall that last week several media outlets reported that Poroshenko and Avakov got in a fight once on the street Grushevskogo set up tents. The President allegedly was unhappy that the law enforcement officers under the control of Avakov, has allowed to do it.

Minister Avakov is a key representative of the “popular front” government.
