Audi will release a 450-strong crossover Q5

Acceleration to “hundreds” of new items will take a little less than five seconds.

The Audi Q5 crossover new generation will get a sports version called the RS. The official premiere of the novelty will take place in September at the Frankfurt motor show. The machine gets a new 2.9-liter gasoline engine V6. Now this unit is installed on the S5 Coupe.

The capacity of the unit will be around 450 HP and 600 Nm of torque. Dynamic characteristics of the car are still kept secret. S5 Coupe with this engine to 100 km/h accelerates in 3.9 seconds. The maximum speed of 250 km per hour. The crossover is unlikely to be able to rely on such indicators because of the weight. According to unofficial data, the acceleration to “hundreds” of new items will take a little less than five seconds.

Crossover Audi Q5 second generation debuted last year at the motor show in Paris. The model went global platform MLB evo, which built almost all the “older” models from the A4 to the Q7. Distinctive features of the platform are a longitudinal engine layout and extensive use of light alloy materials. New Q5 more than 100 kg lighter and with a curb weight of 1600 kg can be considered as the lightest SUV in its segment.

Gasoline engines 2.0 TFSI develops 190 and 252 HP, diesel 2.0 TDI — 190 HP. A more powerful version with a label SQ5 has received a three-liter V6 engines: diesel — power 354 HP and diesel with a 340-strong unit.
