Audi has updated the fastest hatchback in the world

Company Audi has presented updated “charged” hatchback RS3 Sportback, which is now equipped with a 400-horsepower engine. The public debut of model will take place at the March motor show in Geneva.

The hot hatch received a new 2.5-liter five-cylinder forced air engine (the same unit in the new Audi TT RS), which was upgraded cylinder block and the crankcase, installed a new turbocharger and intercooler, as well as a combined fuel injection into the intake manifold and directly into the cylinders. The motor still works in tandem with seven-speed robotized gearbox with two clutch transmission and all-wheel drive with multi-plate clutch on the rear axle.

From zero to “hundreds” hot hatch accelerates in 4.1 seconds — 0.2 seconds faster than previously. Maximum speed — 250 kilometers per hour. Surcharge the Rev limiter moved to 280 kilometers per hour.

The equipment of the model will include led headlights, leather sports seats, multimedia system with support for Google Earth and Google Street View, as well as “plug autopilot”, which at speeds up to 65 miles per hour maintains distance to the car in front, in charge of steering.

As an option for the updated Audi RS3 will be available adaptive suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes 310 mm discs, a fully electronic instrument panel, 705-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system.

In Europe orders for the hatchback and sedan, the RS3 will be in April, and dealers of cars will appear in August. Pyatidverka will cost at least 54.6 thousand euros, and the sedan — at 55.9 thousand euros.
