One icon is collected, the whole Ukrainian history.
The Ukrainian military has its own icon image of the Holy virgin of the Ukrainian artist-painter Yuri Nikitin. The canvas depicts Ukrainian defenders and public figures from different generations.
There stands the Prince Vladimir the Great Hetman Ivan Mazepa, Cossacks, soldiers of the Ukrainian people’s Republic and the modern participants of the revolution of Dignity, the soldiers of the ATO, and above them is the virgin with the protective cover in the hands.
The idea of creating shrines endorsed military chaplains, which in the Kyiv Patriarchate are more than five hundred. A new icon was unveiled and consecrated in St. Michael’s Cathedral in Kiev. Soon we were taking her to the ATO.
