At the end of the summer in China sold a record number of cars

This summer, the car market of China was especially hot.

In August, China had a record number of sales of electric vehicles — 55 000 units, 68 percent more than a year ago. The leader of sales became BAIC EC-Series.

As a consequence, the share of plug-in hybrids rose again, this time to 1.8%, and is confidently leading the record of last year of 1.5%. By the end of the year, according to Clean Technica, sales will increase even more, and the market for hybrids is to overcome the barrier of 2% and may even reach 2.5%.

Chinese regulators still largely protect the market from the invasion of foreign brands, the proportion of which does not exceed 6%. 4% of them belong to Tesla, 1% of BMW, and another 1% was shared by other automakers. However, in previous years, the foreign companies got even less.

In August, in Vogue small cars, and best of all sold BAIC EC-Series was purchased 6726 pieces, this is an absolute record for one model in China. Her success is due to attractive design and accessible price (€19 000).
