Astronomers: mysterious Galaxy form a “circuit” and “line”

“Chains” of galaxies, there are already 10 billion years.

The largest galaxies in the Universe formed a “chain” with their neighbors and line up in a line for 10 billion years ago, making their existence even more mysterious, say astronomers in an article published in the journal Nature Astronomy.

“This discovery is an important part of this cosmic puzzle. It indicates that the galaxy lined up in a similar structure almost immediately after their appearance. Now, we observe even more dull and distant galaxies in the hope to understand whether this is an unusual property for the more distant past of the Universe,” says Michael West (Michael West) from Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff (USA).

Until recently, astronomers believed that the majority of spiral galaxies located within clusters and rotated relative to the other objects within them in a random way. The last observation of the largest inhabitants of these clusters and galaxies within nearby clusters show that this is not so – most of them are stretched and rotated in the direction of their neighbors, waiting in a kind of luminous thread and lines.

This behavior of galaxies that tells how West, contrary to modern cosmological theories, postulating that all visible and dark matter of the Universe was distributed on it randomly, thanks to the presence of microscopic fluctuations in the “echo” of the Big Bang. Therefore, the galaxies and their clusters needs to be tapped and distributed in space in a similar way.

Some astronomers believed that the contradiction here really is not – they suggest that these “chains” of galaxies could have formed relatively recently in the cosmic sense, in the past few billion years, thanks to the interactions of galaxies and their movements within clusters.

West and his team found hints that it’s actually not so, opening a “brood” of ancient galaxies rotated in the direction of neighbors, watching the 65 clusters of galaxies that we see in the same condition in which they were approximately 10 billion years ago.

Analyzing images from “Hubble”, scientists have found in each of these clusters of dozens of large galaxies lined up in a line together with their neighbouring objects. In addition, the astronomers found a similar, but larger structures inside the neighbouring clusters that pointed to the fact that the “chain” galaxies already existed 2-3 billion years after the birth of the Universe.

These observations, as the authors of the open, do not rule out the possibility that the galaxy could line up in a line after their formation, however, this “migration” should be very fast, almost impossible from the point of view of theories about the origin and movement of galaxies and their clusters.

To test whether this is so or not, the researchers plan in the course of observations of even more distant galaxies that emerged just after the end of the era of reionization, the “dark ages” of the Universe. If they will behave in the same way, then cosmologists will have to seriously think about how I could Harbor such an ordered structure of galaxies in a supposedly completely random Universe.
