Aston Martin unveiled at the Geneva motor show the new hypercar, which was previously known under the symbol AM-RB 001. However, at the motor show it was announced that the car will be produced under a different name — Valkyrie. Thus, the English brand continues the tradition to give their names starting in V is earlier in the line Aston Martin has already appeared, Vanquish, Vantage, Virage and Vulcan.
The development of the car was carried out jointly with Red Bull. The project was led by chief creative Director at Aston Martin Marek Reichman and technical Director of Red Bull Racing Adrian Newey. The car will be released in a limited edition of 150 copies, which are already completely sold out.
At the moment, officially confirmed that the novelty will receive a 6.5-liter V12 petrol engine. The development of the engine is Cosworth. The unit will work in conjunction with a seven-speed Ricardo transmission. Work on led optics for the machine involved in the company Wipac.
The dynamic characteristics are still kept secret. Earlier it was reported that the power of the hypercar will be about 1,000 horsepower. Several media outlets claimed that the engine will work in conjunction with an electric motor, which should add another 80 horsepower. Maximum speed of new items will be 402 km per hour. At the same time, curb weight of AM-RB 001 will be less than one ton.
