CEO of Aston Martin Andy Palmer told the Financial Times that by the mid 2020s, all cars will be hybrid by 100%. He also said that by 2030, every fourth car Aston Martin will be fully electric.
Aston Martin is one of the last automakers, which announced the transition to the hybrid lineup. The first all-electric Aston Martin will model RapidE four-seater car, which is scheduled to release in 2019. But it will be a model with a limited release planned total of 115 cars. The paper also futuristic hybrid Valkyrie, developed by Aston Martin in conjunction with the Adrian Newey of Red Bull Racing.
Palmer also said that Aston Martin will develop its technology for electric motors within the company, not borrowing it from a technical partner Mercedes-Benz (which currently supplies the company the electronics, and the V8 engine).
2017 was a good year for Aston Martin, which produces the signature car of James bond. The company received a profit of $27.3 million from revenues of $529,7 million for the first half, which was a big success compared to the same period in 2016. So it looks like the British automaker to add to its range of electric vehicles. In addition, the UK government often encourages grants and subsidized green technology.
