“Right sector” blocked the coloring of the Arch of Friendship of peoples.
In Kiev, on Thursday, April 27, representatives of the “Right sector” and “Freedom” has stopped coloring the Arch of Friendship of peoples in the colors of the rainbow.
This was announced by the speaker of the Right Sector Artem Skoropadsky.
The reason for this was the view of activists that the decoration of the arch is hidden LGBT propaganda.
“We do not agree with these so-called ornaments, in quotes, which there are. Because it is a hidden propaganda of LGBT people, although the people’s Friendship Arch monument certainly outdated, not particularly needed, it is included in the list of national monuments, what is there to change, it’s just illegal. These works have not been agreed upon with the community, it’s just the arbitrary decision of the Kiev city hall that would like Europe,” – said Skoropadskyi.
“We arrived there, has blocked everything that happens there, called the police, wrote a statement to the police that there are illegal actions. If the government wants to decorate the Arch for the Eurovision song contest, let them paint it folk ornaments or something else. But if things continue, we will use the methods that are spelled out in the Constitution,” he added.
According to Skoropadsky, activists are not satisfied with LGBT propaganda.
“The Kiev government is trying to position Ukraine and the Ukrainian capital, as the capital of debauchery. Of course we are not satisfied. We openly talk about it. We clearly see that the same organizer of the “Kiev-Pride 2017″ they took a picture of this thing and posted on Facebook as the cover of its events,” he said.
The speaker of the PS added that they will not allow such symbols in Kiev.
The contractor, according to journalists, which “modernizes” the arch, temporarily halted work.
“We will wait for the decision of the Kiev city state administration,” — said the contractor.
