Scientists have discovered the remains of an unknown species of sauropod dinosaurs.
New species of ancient giants have been found in the Moab desert of Utah and named Moabosaurus utahensis. The age of the finds is 125 million years old.
Studies of the skeleton showed that sauropods significantly different from known relatives of the Brontosaurus and Brachiosaurus.
These animals are known to have lived on the territory of modern Spain and Tanzania. The discovery of a new species of sauropods have caused the scientists many questions.
Scientists hypothesize that during the Cretaceous period of Europe, Africa and North America were connected by land areas, which allowed the dinosaurs to migrate to other continents.
It is also assumed that Moab in ancient times were not desert. On its site was the lake, the trees, which allowed ancient animals to live in fairly comfortable conditions.
