Apple wants iPhone iPad Macbook

It should be noted that this is just a patent application, and it doesn’t mean that Apple will turn it into reality.

In a new Apple patent published by the Office of patents and trademarks USA (USPTO), describes a method, which involves placing an iPhone or iPad “electronic accessory”, which looks like a laptop.

Patent application for “Electronic accessory” was first discovered by AppleInsider. The patent was filed in September 2016. The company plans to transform iPhone or iPad into a full-fledged laptop. The most interesting thing is that the device can not work without the iPhone, which will be used as the dock.
Device like a laptop, it will be “empty”, in other words to have only the functional parts such as the screen and keyboard. It does not contain a CPU, RAM or other such hardware components. Probably, Apple can include a dedicated graphics processor for empowerment.

Accessory that looks like the MacBook is likely to get aluminum body, which will have the trackpad, it will drop a dock into which you can place your iPhone. Operating system, processor and RAM of the iPhone will be powered norbutabey device.

Separate the idea of that patent is shown in the second image, which shows how you can use iPad with the additional electronic device. The tablet will be placed on the spot where normally there is the laptop screen. It will act as display for the device to which you connect keyboard with trackpad.

In both cases, the device will run iOS, not MacOS.

In 2015, Microsoft has released the Lumia 950 and 950 XL. Continuum for Windows 10 Mobile OS along with supporting equipment on both phones has allowed users to connect Lumia 950 or 950 XL to an external screen, keyboard and mouse via a docking station Display. This allowed users to experience Windows 10 on the PC.
HP Elite X3 also currently offers this feature, which connects the phone with dock-style laptop using Continuum for Windows 10 Mobile.

It should be noted that this is just a patent application, and it doesn’t mean that Apple will turn it into reality.
