The fee will be 4 or 9 euros.
From 1 June Malaysia introduces a tourist tax for leaving the country. The fee will be 20 or 40 ringgit (4 or 9 euros).
It is noted that the tax will affect only those tourists who are leaving Malaysia on regular flights or cruises. Those who arrived on a Charter flight, to levy a tax will not.
The difference in the amount of the tax depends on where the traveler after Malaysia.
To pay 4 euros will have those who go to the ASEAN countries: Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar, Brunei and Laos.
9 euros forked out travellers who are going somewhere else. Authorities are confident that innovation will not cause tourists to avoid traveling to Malaysia.
“This collection of works in many countries, someone will charge it as a tax, and someone turns in the ticket price,” – said the Minister of tourism and culture of the country Mohamadin Ketapi. The money collected, he said, will go to the development “of the country and the people.”
