Ukrainian chess player Anna Muzychuk could not become world champion in classical chess.
On the way to the world championship final in Tehran Muzychuk has consistently dealt with Mezoued Amina (Algeria), Alina Kaslinskoy (Russia), Le Thao Nguyen Pham (Vietnam), Antoaneta Stefanova (Bulgaria) and Anna Kosteniuk (Russia).
In the decisive battle for the title of world champion in classical chess Anna Muzychuk competed with Chinese tan Junyi. The Ukrainian had the best rating and was considered the favorite in the final confrontation.
For the beginning players had to play four classic games. After the starting draw Muzychuk and Junyi exchanged victories and final instalment of the first phase already after 24 moves agreed to a draw.
The fate of the chess crown had to decide the tie-break. Unfortunately, the second round at the 39th the course made a gross error and he lost the second game in rapid chess with time control 25+10, which automatically made tan Junyi new world champion in classical chess.
Anna Muzychuk could not get a hat-trick at the end of December last year, the Ukrainian tournament in Doha became world champion in rapid chess and in blitz.
The status of Vice-world champion in classic chess Muzychuk brought 30 thousand dollars in prize money.
