Chinese online retailer Alibaba has presented the “smart” column with voice assistant Genie Tmall at the press conference in Beijing.
Thus, the company wants to create an entry point for their services intended for smart homes.
Tmall Genie will be the cheapest voice assistant on the market value of 499 yuan ($73). He works on cloud technologies and Alibaba says is the only Mandarin (Putonghua, Chinese literature). In selling AliGenie will appear in the beginning of next month. It will connect a whole range of services of Alibaba, in particular, online shopping and digital entertainment.
Alibaba has also introduced open platform for developers of applications and devices for smart homes, and a platform where they can sell their services. Now it is connected to more than one hundred such devices.
