The investment Fund of Russian billionaire and co-owner of “LUKOIL” Vagit Alekperov has acquired the port for luxury mega yachts OneOcean Prot Vell in Barcelona. Partner Alekperov became a Qatari investment Bank QInvest.
Seller popular the harbour was the company Salamanca Group (UK), which developed its infrastructure. Representatives of the seller said that now is the perfect time to enter into the project “strategic investors who will invest to further develop this distinguished symbol of Barcelona,” the source quoted Life.
QInvest head Tamim Hamad al-Kawari, speaking of the deal, expressed confidence in the future of the project, “because the harbour is one of the most prestigious spaces of luxury yacht in the European region”. The transaction amount was not disclosed.
Infrastructure Harbor in 2010 invested about 100 million euros. First and foremost, spending was related to the fact that the port could go super-yacht longer than 80 meters. All the harbour is able to accommodate over 150 vessels up to 190 meters. According to the Barcelona chamber of Commerce, in 2016 the yachting industry in the Catalan capital has earned about 850 million euros.
