Alcoholism leads to serious diseases.
In Ukraine 40% of male deaths and 22% of women of working age (20 to 64 years) are a consequence of alcohol consumption.
This is evidenced by research in the field of mental health, conducted by experts from the world Bank.
Often the cause of death associated with alcohol is suicide (and today Ukraine is among the ten countries with the highest rates of suicide).
Alcohol is often the cause of dangerous diseases such as tuberculosis, respiratory infections, multiple cancer, cardiovascular diseases, cirrhosis of liver, pancreatitis, epilepsy, diabetes, and injuries and interpersonal violence.
