In Ukraine there is a high prevalence of HIV infection, reports Chronocount citing strana.ua.ia.
According to the updated estimates on HIV/AIDS, at the beginning of 2017 lived in Ukraine 238 thousand people with HIV of all ages.
In the age group older than 15 years, HIV prevalence was 0.61%.
Among annually screened for HIV in Ukraine detected about 1% of persons with confirmed positive results.
Under control for HIV infection, is 0.31 percent of the population. Within ten months of 2017 in the country recorded daily 48 cases of HIV infection, 24% of health and 8 deaths from AIDS.
According to the world health organization and the joint United Nations programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), in a world with HIV live about 37 million people, of which 19.5 million are on antiretroviral treatment.
