Scientists have found that Venice, and the towns on the Adriatic coast between Trieste and Ravenous can fully go under water.
It will happen around the year 2100.
To such conclusion the international group of researchers of the Italian Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, University of Rome, Catania, Haifa in Israel, Paris and Marseille after examining the changes in the climate.
According to them, the level of the Mediterranean sea will rise by 140 centimeters. This can become a serious threat for the extinction of 33 districts of the country.
The cause of sea-level rise scientists call rapid climate change and global warming caused by high carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere.
It is worth noting that in the past Millennium, the level of the Mediterranean rose by 30 centimeters.
