Already in the mid-1980s, it became clear that Soviet policy in Afghanistan is a stub. Limited contingent of Soviet troops in the DRA in cooperation with local government forces did not allow the Mujahideen to take control of the major cities of the country, however, to completely neutralize the armed gangs of the opposition was not. February 15, 1989, the Friendship Bridge between the USSR and Afghanistan had passed the last units of the 40th army. In this review, the photo, which was taken shortly before the withdrawal of Soviet troops from the DRA.
