Surgeons and engineers have conducted joint successful operation to remove from the leg of a wounded soldier ATO unexploded ordnance. About this Facebook said the Advisor to the chief of staff armed forces of Ukraine Alena Verbitskaya.

A soldier was wounded during the shelling of positions of forces of ATO on the night of August 7, 2017.

“The grenade hit Dmitri in the left leg, where it got stuck and exploded,” – said Verbitskaya.

The soldier was immediately evacuated to the rear, where he rendered first aid.

“As soon as the wounded were taken to the hospital in Mariupol, surgeons along with a bomb squad conducted a unique operation for extraction and neutralization of enemy ammunition”, – said Verbitskaya.

Advisor to the chief of staff added that doctors assess the condition of the military as satisfactory.
