This discovery, according to scientists, is a breakthrough in the field of observations of galaxies, the so-called era of reionization (the period of the history of the Universe between 550 and 800 million years after the Big Bang) and will help in the study of the formation of stars.
The discovery was made in the framework of the LAGER project, initiated by the Chinese. With the help of the Chilean telescope, the researchers found 23 candidates in the galaxy, formed over 800 million years after the Big Bang. In addition, the researchers came to the conclusion that by the time the fraction of ionized hydrogen reaches 50 percent.
Further observations helped to select the six star systems of interest for the study.
