Doctors amputated a resident of the German city of Cologne both legs and left forearm due to the fact that she was bitten by a mosquito.
It is noted that in March, 43-year-old woman was taking out the trash and she was bitten by a mosquito. According to the victim, at first she had a lump, then she felt the aching joints, the dizziness started. The woman was hospitalized, but after examination were sent home.
Her condition worsened and her husband took her back to the hospital. The woman went into a coma for a week, her limbs began to turn black. Doctors were forced to amputate the woman’s both legs and left forearm.
According to doctors, the mosquito could be a bacterial infection which led to blood poisoning.
As previously reported, girl 3.5 years old hospitalized in serious condition with a diagnosis of “tetanus”. This case is the fifth in Ukraine in 2017.
According to preliminary data, the child contracted tetanus from the contact of the foreign body in the nose, the causative agent of tetanus has entered the body through the mucosa.
