Two thirds of Russians (65%) believe that mass persecution was the policy of the government, 22% believe their initiative, ordinary citizens, workers party, Soviet and law enforcement bodies.
61% of respondents finds it difficult to name concrete names of famous people subjected to political persecution.
In the Stalin years in one way or another persecuted and the guilty and the innocent – says 70% of Russians. That all the victims were punished unfairly, I believe 11%. 2% believe repression is absolutely justified.
