Curiosity looks like a dot of blue color on the background of brown rocks and dark sand.
The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter transmitted to Earth a new image of the Rover Curiosity at mount sharp.
Now the Mars Rover is on a temporary Parking lot near the dunes on the upper slopes, according to the NASA website.
On the image obtained after processing the images, Curiosity looks like a dot of blue color on the background of brown rocks and dark sand on mount sharp. Note that in reality, the size of the Rover is approximately three meters in length and width.
Curiosity now located in the upper part of mount sharp, the so-called “plateau of the Naukluft”, where it is overlain by rocks formed at a time when Mars began to lose its atmosphere and water and gradually became dry. The picture was taken June 5, 2017 with the camera High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) aboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. During the photograph, the satellite was at an altitude 270,9 kilometers above the surface of Mars.
The MRO probe takes Curiosity every three months and allows scientists to track changes around him, such as migrating sand dunes.
