A humanitarian disaster, the UN has made the alarming statement

The world is facing the greatest humanitarian disaster since 1945

For the first time since the establishment of the United Nations in 1945, the world is experiencing the biggest humanitarian crisis – more than 20 million people facing hunger. This statement was made by Deputy UN Secretary-General for humanitarian Affairs Stephen O’brien.

O’brien informed the security Council of the USA that now need to make global efforts to prevent mass extinction of people from hunger and disease.

In particular, a terrible situation now exists in Yemen, South Sudan, Somalia and North-Eastern Nigeria. These countries need immediate help.

To be exact, we need $ 4.4 billion to July,
– said the Deputy UN Secretary-General.

He added that the largest humanitarian crisis in Yemen, where two thirds of the population (18.8 million people) need help, this is 3 million more than in January.

More than 7 million people in Yemen are already starving and don’t know when I’ll get to eat next time. Note, by the criteria of the UN, the famine in the country, when more than 30% of children under 5 suffer from acute malnutrition, and mortality is more than two deaths per 10 thousand people daily.
