The fire destroyed most of the village of New heater Bakhmut district, Donetsk region.
As Chairman of the Donetsk regional military-civil administration Pavlo zhebrivskyi, of the five households, four were completely burned. In the fifth – a fire damaged a barn, chickens and burned the car.
The fire started at about 14:00 Monday, August 21. The grass fires, the fire spread to the forest and home.
“The village is located along the road leading to Lisichansk. Or someone threw a cigarette butt, or grass along the trails lit up for another reason, but the fire spread to the forest belt, spread with terrible force – people noticed, they started to burn houses. Stone buildings flared like a match – people ran out who in what was. Only by miracle nobody has suffered”, – said zhebrivskyi the circumstances of the incident.
Four families sheltered by relatives from neighboring villages, fifth – placed in the hostel of GP “Artemsol” in Bakhmut.
