Unfortunately, in our world regularly there are crimes of different nature.
But sometimes there are things that I want to tell the wider public because of their scale and audacity.
Below we will tell about the crimes, which all came together almost perfectly.
1. Stolen jewels, the thieves the twins and their perfect alibi – 5 million euros stolen
February 25, 2009, three robbers in disguise boldly penetrated into Kaufhaus Des Westens, the second largest Department store in Europe.
With the help of rope ladders they were able to ransack the main floor without tripping any sensors or alarms.
However, one mistake could be fatal, if not unique circumstance of the crime. They forgot at the crime scene glove, which eventually provoked an unusual situation.
The DNA found on the glove matched two people: identical twins identified as Hassan and Abbas O. (Hassan and Abbas O.).
But according to German law, every person may be convicted individually, as well as their DNA is incredibly similar, the authorities have not managed to separate them from each other.
In the end, the German police were forced to release both of them, the third robber is still not found.
2. Dan “DB” Cooper and the only unsolved crime in the history of U.S. aviation – stolen $ 200,000
It is the world’s most famous fugitive. The night before Thanksgiving, November 24, 1971 a passenger named Dan Cooper (Dan Cooper) boarded a plane in Portland, Oregon and moved to Seattle.
Dressed in a suit and raincoat, dark glasses and a briefcase, he sat silently in the back of the plane. Calmly lit a cigarette and ordered a whiskey from the stewardess, he then handed her a note which said: “In my briefcase bomb, if necessary, I will lead her into action. I want you sitting next to me. You’re a hostage”.
He demanded that he be in Seattle brought $ 200,000 and four parachutes. When the plane landed, he released all the passengers, except the pilot, copilot and flight attendants.
After the money was delivered, Cooper ordered the pilot to fly to Mexico city, gaining a height of 3000 m. Shortly after takeoff, over the mountains to the North-West of Portland, wearing a parachute, Cooper jumped.
More about it never heard. Which one survived? In 1980, on one of the beaches was found about $ 6,000 in packs, but no sign of a body have not found. The case remains open and is the only unsolved crime in the history of the US air force.
3. Theft at the art Museum Gardner – $ 300 million
March 18, 1990, the day after St. Patrick’s Day, to the door of the Isabella Stewart Gardner in Boston police arrived, claiming that they received a call about a disturbance.
Violating the Protocol, the security officer let them in. One of the raiders said that he had on his hands a warrant for the arrest of the guard, thereby persuading him to depart from his post. The thieves fled from the scene taking with him 13 paintings, including masterpieces by Rembrandt, Vermeer and Degas, worth a third of a billion dollars. Still in this case no arrested, no suspects, no pictures, respectively.
4. Robbery in Japan, 300 million yen
10 Dec 1968 car of the Bank Nihon Shintaku Ginko were transporting 300 million yen ($817 000), when he was caught on the motorcycle police officer and said that a car bomb that needs to explode.
As a result, four people got out of the car, and patrolmen in uniform began to explore the bottom of the vehicle. A few moments later from under the car got smoky and it seemed the flames, the men quickly ran for cover.
Of course, the smoke, and police were fake. He jumped into the car and sped away with the loot. In spite of the overwhelming amount of evidence, suspects and police investigators, this man failed to find.
In 1975, the Statute of limitations for the crime has ended, and in 1988 was revoked all civil obligations, but nevertheless, no one has still not admitted.
5. The world’s largest diamond theft – $ 100 million
This is the biggest theft in the history of the most incredibly secure centre in the world, located in Antwerp, Belgium. The diamond, located two floors below the diamond centre, was protected by a lock with 100 million possible combinations, as well as heat sensors/motion, radar, magnetic field, and a private security system.
In one of the weekends in February 2003, using the methods which would have envied Daniel ocean, the thieves were able to silently sneak into the vault, open the safe and escape with the money.
And although the alleged group leader, Leonardo Notarbartolo (Leonardo Notarbartolo) was caught and sentenced to 10 years in prison, he was soon released on parole.
The thief said in an interview with Wired Magazine that really was stolen, only 20 million, and that the crime was only part of a larger conspiracy involving insurers. However, the money was never returned.
6. The first American robbery – $ 1 million
This story is from the category created by David Copperfield. On Friday, 7 October 1977 on the eve of Columbus day a Bank employee counted $ 4 million in cash and locked them in an underground vault located two floors below the First National Bank of Chicago.
On Tuesday morning the money was again counted, and it turned out that exactly $ 1 million in banknotes of 50 and 100, weighing more than 36 kg, vanished into thin air.
In 1981, during the drug RAID was found $ 2,300, but on the balance, as the criminals are still unknown.
7. The robbery of Harry Winston – $ 108 million
The participants in this robbery could receive the main prize in the nomination “For courage”. 4 December 2008, four men, three of whom were wearing wigs of long blond hair, disguised as women, went to the famous Parisian jewelry store the day before closing.
Once inside they began waving a gun and a hand grenade, at the same time robbing the store.
Less than 15 minutes it took them to leave the shop with diamonds, rubies and emeralds for a total amount of 108 million dollars.
Experts believe that this is the work of the notorious Serbian group The Pink Panthers, responsible for robberies around the world in the amount of 132 million dollars and never caught.

8. The theft of the cross of Thacker is priceless
Cross Tucker is named after diver Teddy Tucker (Teddy Tucker), who, in 1955, recovered it from the depths of the sunken vessel in 1594 in San Pedro.
The cross is made of 22 carat gold and encrusted with green emeralds. The artifact is considered priceless. Nonetheless, Tucker sold it to the Bermuda government for an undisclosed sum.
In 1975, the cross had to be moved to the Bermuda Museum of art to showcase Queen Elizabeth II. No one knows when or how, but during this move a clever thief had replaced the original cheap plastic copy.
Presumably, the historical artifact was molten, precious stones were extracted and sold on the black market.
9. Bank robbery Baghdad – 282 million dollars
July 11, 2007 unknown the thief of Bagdad just came, took the money and went with them. Dar Es Salaam, a private financial institution, was hit by two or three guards, who bore nearly a third of a billion dollars.
Probably, the institution itself did not want the questions started about where they have so much cash, so they kept silent and in the media this topic is almost not covered.
10. Gang of vacuum cleaner from France – about € 600,000
This team wins the award for ingenuity. Monoprix, a French supermarket chain, keeps money in a steel safe with a thickness of a few centimeters.
However, as it turned out, they are easy to open by means of pneumatic tubes. Thus, due to the drill and the vacuum cleaner for 15 robberies they managed to pump out 600 000 Euro.
