British singer war-time 100-year-old Vera Lynn in 2017 from his album “100” topped the British music charts.

So, the album women the most popular in sales among other albums released this year. Vera Lynn surpassed even Dua Lipa, and Lana Del Rey.

The album “100”, was released in March 2017 and took third place in the overall charts. It includes cover versions of the most famous hits of Vera Lynn performed by famous performers, and a previously unknown recording of the singer in 1972.

“It’s unbelievable that people still listen to songs recorded so many years ago, experiencing these emotions. I was doing my job as a singer, and I’m so pleased to hear that my songs are so beautifully presented in a completely new way,” said 100-year-old actress.

Vera Lynn is a British singer, Dame of the Order of the British Empire, which had immense popularity during the Second world war, when she led a concert of the BBC radio programme “Sincerely Yours”, addressed to British troops abroad.

She already owns two historical chart of record. November 15, 1952, just three of her songs (“Forget Me Not”, #5 “The Homing Waltz”, #9, “Auf Wiederseh’n Sweetheart”, #10) became the first British hit parade, published by New Musical Express. And on 5 September 2009, 92-year-old singer has just become the oldest performer ever entering the album charts, but (with the collection We’ll Meet Again: The Very Best of Vera Lynn) went up in the first place.
