The head of state committed to openness in the discussion of important issues in the country and does not want to make decisions behind closed doors.
President Vladimir Zelensky said that the decision on the conclusion of peace agreements with Russia on the referendum has no legislative initiative, and is the only way to find out the opinion of society.
He said this during a meeting with public activists, volunteers and former military officials, which took place in the Administration of the President.
“We need to hear each person. This is not a legislative referendum, and information: citizens what you think. This is a normal conversation with people,” said Zelensky.
According to him, he is committed to openness in the discussion of important issues in the country and does not want to make decisions behind closed doors, as was done before.
It is reported that the meeting participants agreed that it is appropriate to call it a referendum, and the polling and dialogue with society.
