Google has officially introduced a new design of YouTube. Changes have affected both the mobile app and the web version of the video service, says the developer blog.
The most radical change was the YouTube logo. Now the name of the video service and red icon posted separately, making the image easier adapts to the screen size.
According to the developers, the new design is made in accordance with the invented concept of Google Material Design. This allowed us to simplify the interface and remove all unnecessary items.
One of the key innovations is the night mode, available in the web version of YouTube. This function is intended to reduce the burden on users ‘ eyes in the dark.
In addition, the video service has added native support for the vertical video. Now these videos will play on mobile devices without black borders at the edges.
Another significant innovation – the ability to rewind by double-clicking on the screen. Also in the mobile app adds an option to change the playback speed.
