Yelchenko in the UN security Council proposed to commemorate Churkin

Ukraine’s permanent representative at the UN security Council suggested to observe a minute of silence in memory of the Russian colleagues.

Permanent representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko invited the members of the security Council to observe a minute of silence in memory of the Russian colleague Vitaly Churkin. He said this at a meeting of the UN security Council on nereshennyh conflicts in Europe.

“Dear colleagues, as you know, yesterday the Council adopted a press statement in connection with the death of the permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations. As the President of the security Council, I propose to observe a minute of silence in memory of Ambassador Vitaly Churkin,” – said Yelchenko.

After a minute of silence the delegation of Russia noted that Russian diplomats “grateful for the kind words and expression of sympathy in connection with the irreplaceable loss suffered by Russia”.

Then the condolences expressed by other members of the security Council.
