The Ukrainian diplomat noted that each Ambassador expresses the position of the state.
Every Ambassador in the first place, is the person who expresses the position of his country, but to this you can add some personality and interpretation of the instructions.
This was stated by the permanent representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko in the air Hromadske.
“I would not began to exaggerate his personal role, or rather to think that his personal role in this position any different from the position of the Russian Federation, which he represented,” – said Yelchenko.
“In diplomacy there is a rule, as in any other public service, if you do not agree with what you say you do, you just resign. I understand that Mr. Churkin to do so could not, or would not, it was his right. The line he chose was his personal decision, probably based on what instructions he received from his Ministry of foreign Affairs”,- he added.
Earlier today it was reported that the permanent representative of Russia to the UN Vitaly Churkin has died at the age of 64 in new York.
