Ukrainian tennis player Diane Yastremsky failed to win the title at the ITF tournament in Saint-Petersburg.
For the title “Neva Cup” Yastremsky competed with a famous tennis player from Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic, who several years ago stood at the seventh position in the WTA rankings, but due to injuries retreated far back.
At the start of the match, tennis players have exchanged breaks, but soon Yastremsky faced with an epidemic of errors and released Bencic in the gap. With the score 1:2 Ukrainian lost five of six games.
During the second set Yastremsky long held Bencic, but in the eighth game lost his serve and could not return to the game (2:6, 3:6)
Dayana Yastremsky first played in the finals of the tournament with a prize pool of $100,000. Due to the breakthrough in St. Petersburg, the native of Odessa has earned 85 points, allowing it Monday to debut in the top 200 to become the fifth racket of the world among women tennis players, whose age does not exceed 18 years.
