Humanoid robot Atlas, created by Boston Dynamics, mastered new moves: now he can not only jump from one platform to another, but also to do a back flip.
Video test the new abilities of the robot, the company has uploaded on the official YouTube channel.
Performing a back flip was preceded by the passage of a kind of obstacle course with jumping across platforms of different heights.
It should be noted that balance is one of the most difficult tasks for automated machines. Experts from Boston Dynamics previously taught Atlas to overcome difficult obstacles on two legs.
At the same time managed to achieve increased stabilization of the robot: Atlas makes this complicated acrobatic trick like a back flip, not worse than the gymnasts.
Earlier it was reported that the company Boston Dynamics dedicated to the creation of robots, has introduced its new development called SpotMini. The robot can help around the house (throw away trash in the trash or put dirty glasses in the dishwasher) and even bring beer.
Also, a group of scientists from Harvard University have created a robot-“the smoker”, which is designed to study pulmonary diseases.
