“The toxic avenger” is one of the major masterpieces of cult movie Studio of category “B” Troma. The original film Michael Hertz and Lloyd Kaufman saw the light in 1985, and then helped himself to three sequels, the last of which came in 2001. Like many of the cult series, Citizen toxie is not once mentioned in the same sentence with the word “remake”. But despite last year’s information on the appointment of Conrad Vernon for the post of Director of the new version, restarted and nothing more was heard.

However, the future plans of producers fell to Smith not to their liking.
We went in the budget. The great charm of “the Toxic avenger” gave the fact that it was shot for pennies. And to repeat this success, no need to spend a lot of money. But I objected and said that this is a movie for $ 35 million. To which I replied: “It’s the fucking Toxic avenger, man in a tutu and with a lousy makeup, what are you going to spend the money?”. In my view, if we do a remake of “the Toxic avenger” – it is necessary to adhere to the spirit of the original. Instead, they were going to do “Marmeladova” franchise, and I doubted that they even watched the film itself. So I just politely declined. I understand what they’re doing, and don’t want to be a part of it. It’s as if someone is going to shoot 35-millionth version of “Clerks” – who need it?
Mr. Smith is right – it would be a shame to see the transformation of the icon of the trash-films once the hero of the children’s blockbusters. However, talking about the remake since subsided, and a small loss. Instead, you can always review the fun of the original.
