Liver disease will become the main reason of early death by 2020.
Liver disease will overtake heart disease and become the most common cause of early death by 2020, predict British scientists from the University of Southampton. Alcohol consumption and obesity are the main causes of liver problems, because of which many people die young.
In the study, experts have estimated how many years of working life will be lost due to liver diseases and heart ailments. This figure indicates the total number of years lost adults who die prematurely. The obtained results showed that liver disease would lead to an annual loss of 80,000 job years by 2020, while for cardiovascular diseases will be lost about 76000 working years, and this number will continue to decline.
Experts observed that many deaths related to liver disease occur in young adults or middle aged people. For example, a third of patients suffering from liver disease are under the age of 40 years. Subjected to a liver health risk by drinking too much alcohol. Also negatively on the health of the body affects the presence of overweight.
