Well-known Ukrainian journalist harshly criticized the “Eurovision” in Kiev

The journalist noticed that, first of all, Ukrainians take Eurovision too seriously.

Well-known Ukrainian journalist Yuri Romanenko convinced that the preparations for Eurovision-2017 in Kiev showed “national nonsense and complexes”.

The journalist noticed that, first of all, Ukrainians take Eurovision too seriously, although this is only a “third-rate song contest”.

He also stressed that the desire of the organizers to show Ukrainian culture to foreign guests of the contest is unfortunate, from the point of view of the author, form: in particular, accreditation of journalists was invited to a display of vintage embroidery.

“This unique story is about such a story. Journalists John from London, Henri from Paris and, of course, Sigmund from Berlin was tied up with one common passion — all my life they wanted to know the Ukrainian technique of cross stitch, embroidery, stebelkova seam. And thanks to the Eurovision 2017 they will get such an opportunity,” quipped Romanenko.

He expressed confidence that the ornaments, embroidery towels, giant Easter eggs, etc are not unique and not interesting, not interesting as any modern tourist “authentic stuff” in any country of the world.

“Well, bear [ornaments] some sense, interesting Ethnography, but a Mature person will not become excited about this stuff,” says the journalist.

“Our people live in shit, they absorb the stuff, so they, myself can’t, and many that are junk. They could not see anything but junk, because it so fervently love, cherish, pray to him, these chests that are passed down from generation to generation, where are the useless things in case of emergency. Hence the Golden loaves in the living room, jeeps with the young amber where chase killed by the villages where they themselves live, idiotic design in the center of Kiev in the spirit of “my best friend’s wedding” with Easter eggs, hanging on the Kiev hills ugly multi-storey columns, where former farmers who moved to Kiev dragging tons of stuff”, – said Romanenko.
