Sobchak has recorded a video message to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, criticizing him for blocking Russian sites.
Sobchak from the face of the Russian opposition appealed to Poroshenko in connection with the introduction in Ukraine of censorship, closure of social networks “Vkontakte” and “Classmates”, as well as blocking a number of companies, including “Yandex”. Video posted the edition “Voice of Truth”.
“Historical experience shows that all who have declared war on the social networks, lost. Now, depriving 25 million people of Ukraine the possibility to communicate, you have lost 25 million votes”, – said Sobchak.
She is convinced that such a radical move would destroy the rating of Poroshenko, because this decision can only “political suicide”.
“You are one, and that social networking sits half your nation, which is famous for its rebelliousness and humour. The people who organized the Maidan, the volunteer battalions it is through social networks – you have not allowed an instrument of Nazi propaganda. People who paid for the advantages of the Revolution thousands of lives. And this advantage you one decree merged into the cesspool,” said Sobchak.
At the same time, the statements of the presenter Sobchak caused a sharp response to criticism of both Ukrainian and Russian bloggers.
As previously reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko enacted the decision of national security Council and defense of Ukraine on the introduction of sanctions against Russian social networks. According to the decree of the President No. 133/2017, restrictive sanctions include a ban Internet service providers to provide services for access to resources Mail.ru, “Vkontakte”, “Odnoklassniki”. Sanctions are also imposed on OOO “Yandex”, the Russian companies – developers of antiviruses “Kaspersky’s Laboratory” and “Doctor Web”.
