The Polish government will never agree to the fact that the poles seized the right to burial of their loved ones.
The Polish foreign Ministry called unjustified accusations that Warsaw is trying to choose heroes for Ukraine. This was stated by Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Bartosz Tsihotsky.
“The idea that Warsaw wants to choose Ukraine’s heroes or influence on the content of Ukrainian history textbooks, is absolutely unreasonable”, – he said.
However, according to Tsihotsky, the Polish government will never agree to the fact that the poles seized the right to burial of their loved ones.
Tsihotsky, who heads the intergovernmental panel on historical and legal dialogue with Israel in response to the question, why was not created by the same group in Ukraine said that the Polish proposal to create a “political mechanism for the resolution of all these issues on which both sides have their own expectations or the claims, such as the search for the remains, exhumation, or the celebration of the return of cultural goods”, is not aroused the interest of Kiev.
According to him, Poland cannot agree to a Commission that would only apply to the law on the Institute of national remembrance.
“Especially when in 2015, Ukraine has adopted a set of historical laws, no one offered us any of the bilateral Commission, although during these two years, Warsaw repeatedly through political channels paid attention to these laws, asked to take into account our warnings,” said Tsihotsky.
According to him, the President of Poland Andrzej Duda, sending a “historic” law on the assessment of the constitutional court and so “did something that couldn’t go Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko”.
