Warner Bros. and Amazon has planned a new adaptation of Lord of the rings

Admirers of George. R. R. Tolkien – tremble. According to the latest information Warner Bros. Television is discussing with Amazon the possibility of creating a series based on the Saga “the Lord of the Rings”. According to Variety, negotiations are currently at an early stage, so details to discuss yet. In addition, the transaction involves and the representatives of the Tolkien Estate, representing the interests of the heirs of the writer – and thus possible new film will be closer to the text.

Well, this news is quite ambiguous. On the one hand, the significance, the epic grandeur of Peter Jackson’s trilogy, no doubt, although true fans of the novel (including Tolkien’s son Christopher) this version categorically do not like. On the other hand, adaptation is partly lost “fabulous” spirit of the original – personally I would be happy to see in the new version of the character Tom Bombadil and Frodo’s showdown with the family Sackville-Bagginses. But that is the most obvious concerns is the fact that the series may simply not be able to given Jackson the slats of the scale. Amazon is not the HBO with huge budgets on “Game of thrones” and “the world of the Wild West.”

What do you think about the series the world of middle-earth?
