Washington intends to give Ukraine two tranches of military aid, timelines and details are still being worked out.
In the next two years the US plans to give Ukraine two tranches of military aid. This was stated by the special envoy of the US state Department in Ukraine Kurt Volker.
“We are coordinating actions with Ukraine and exchanged opinions about your defense strategy, development of defense capabilities. And we discuss together what are the gaps, what needs to be done and how we can help. And maybe this will be a question about the capabilities of the Navy, air defence,” said Walker.
According to him, the second tranche of military aid “will be given later in the next year.”
He added that “we will coordinate on a particular system, together with the Ukrainian representatives in particular, to know their needs.”
Earlier, Walker announced that in the near future the U.S. may announce new arms supplies to Ukraine.
For deliveries of military assistance to Ukraine, including defensive weapons of a lethal nature, in the 2019 financial year, Washington has pledged $250 million In the U.S. budget for the current year on these purposes it has been allocated $200 million.
