In Kiev sealed the fate of the Arch of Friendship of peoples. It will not be demolished. Dismantling could cost the country at least 200 thousand hryvnia.
This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian Institute of national memory Vladimir vyatrovich. At the same time, he noted that the sculpture beside her, where two men holding a hammer and sickle, should be demolished in the framework of de-communization.
Just today in the capital left 29 Soviet monuments should be dismantled. Among them is the equestrian statue of Nikolai Shchors, a bust of Karl Marx in the factory Roshen, a sculpture and a plaque of Lenin at the metro station “Theatre”, as well as the bas-reliefs of the Bolshevik leaders at the metro station “Vokzalnaya”.
