Volyn miners blocked the international highway

The miners demand the arrears under the salary.

In Volyn region, on October 9, near the Ukrainian-Polish border, on the international highway “Kyiv-Kovel-the checkpoint “Yagodin”, began a peaceful protest of miners from the city of Novovolynsk.

“At 11.30, a distance of two kilometers from the checkpoint “Yagodin” in the area of the settlement Starovoitove, was held on the overlap of the road between Kiev and Warsaw by the continuous movement on the pedestrian crossing”, – said Gospogransluzhby.

The participants were about 70 people. As a result of negotiations between police and protesters, the miners agreed to allow part of one of the cars, but truck traffic is completely blocked.

“The reason for the picket – non-payment of wages. At the mine of SOE “Volynugol”, under pressure from miners who went on strike last week, were paid only in July and only underground workers,” reports on the page in Facebook the head of the Confederation of free trade unions of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the border guards recommend all who are going to cross the state border of Ukraine “Yagodin”, due to time inconvenience to the other checkpoints.
