Special envoy of the US state Department in Ukraine said that the peacekeeping mission should be broad in the Donbass.
The mandate of the peacekeeping mission under the auspices of the UN, in the Donbass must be wide enough. In an interview with Deutsche Welle said the special envoy of the US state Department in Ukraine with Kurt Volker.
“It needs to be wide enough to really provide security in the disputed territory. Correct would be the gradual establishment of peacekeeping forces so that they eventually controlled the security issues in all the disputed territory. I don’t have the exact numbers that I could call, but a peacekeeping mission should be broad enough to cope with this problem,” said Walker.
According to him, the United States clearly “outlined Russia’s responsibility for the conflict.”
“We have stepped up the sanctions, we strengthened our support for Ukraine, and all we did together as a transatlantic community, in close cooperation with France and Germany who run the “channel format”, and together with Canada, great Britain, Sweden and many others,” said Volker, who on 13 September arrives on a visit to Kiev.
