Ukrainian biathlete Vita Semerenko in the revision of the results will be the silver medalist of the winter Olympic games 2014 in Sochi.
The international Olympic Committee officially announced the cancellation of the results and a lifetime disqualification for five Russian athletes: athletes Sergei Chudinov, bobbers Trunenkov Dmitry and Alexey Nepodailo and biathletes Yana Romanova and Olga Vilukhina.
New sanctions from the IOC led to the revision of results in biathlon competitions at the 2014 Olympics. Vilukhina was the second in sprint race – now the silver will go to the Ukrainian Vita Semerenko and Karin Oberhofer (Italy) will be the bronze medalist of the Games.
In the relay Romanova and Olga Vilukhina of Russia led to the second place. Silver will go to the national team of Norway, bronze will go to the Czech Republic. Victory in that race was won by the national team of Ukraine (Yulia Jim, Vita and Valya Semerenko, Olena Pidhrushna).
The Russian anti-doping rule violation lost the first line in the medal standings of the Olympics-2014. The IOC chose the Russian athletes to win in cross-country skiing, skeleton and bobsleigh.
