Vegetables in Ukraine is rapidly added to the price

The average rise in price by 30-40%.

The prices on greenhouse cucumbers and tomatoes in the Ukrainian market over the past few days increased by almost 30%.

Thus, the average price of greenhouse cucumbers for the wholesale markets today has already reached 18 to 21 UAH/kg, Tomatoes went up to 18-24 UAH/kg.

Compared to last year, product prices are increased by 25-30%.

The expert of the fruit and vegetable market in Eastern Europe Tatiana Getman notes that the prices for greenhouse vegetables in Ukraine always start to grow rapidly since early October. The reason for this is the reduction of daylight hours and associated reduction of sampling in greenhouses.

-Total supply of greenhouse vegetables in Ukrainian farms this season were somewhat less, so the prices for cucumbers and tomatoes for nearly the entire season kept on a high level. Because of high domestic prices, we are seeing a decline in exports of these products
said Getman.

In her opinion, in the coming days we can expect increase in prices, as in the Ukrainian greenhouse season is almost coming to an end, and importers are not yet rushing to bring cucumbers and tomatoes from Turkey due to high prices on the Turkish market and concerns of currency fluctuations in Ukraine.
