In the letter Vakarchuk emphasized that his band Okean Elzy never asked for support from the state, but there are areas that need it.

“Okean Elzy never asked for government support. We have always handled ourselves, I hope, to cope on. However, there are areas of culture that in its current circumstances need the assistance of the state. For example, classical music, museums, theatres, to a certain extent, movie. Today, it is unlikely that they alone can not only grow, but to survive. And they are one of the factors in the formation of a full nation. It is time for civil society and those responsible for public policies to face each other and begin an honest and Frank dialogue“, – wrote in a Network Vakarchuk.
