The United States are seriously thinking about new restrictions for the Russian Federation.
If Russia and China will support North Korea, then America will take the appropriate action in the form of sanctions.
This statement was made by acting assistant Secretary Susan Thornton.
“The success of the strategy of pressure will depend on the cooperation with international partners, especially with Beijing. We continue to work with China and Russia to improve compliance with the sanctions (against the DPRK), but more needs to be done,” said Thornton.
According to her, States hope for dialogue with China and Russia is relatively greater pressure on North Korea. But in the case of inaction of China and Russia, the United States “made it clear” that they will use tools which have, in particular, will impose sanctions.
Just last month we introduced new sanctions against the Russian and Chinese individuals and entities supporting DPRK. We will continue to take action on a multilateral and unilateral basis to stop the illegal activities of North Korea, no matter where they were,
