Washington proposes to impose an embargo on oil supplies to the DPRK and a ban on the export of textiles from the country.
Made in the United States the UN security Council a draft resolution providing for the imposition of more stringent sanctions against North Korea.
“The document, in particular, provides for the freezing of assets of North Korean leader Kim Jong-UN and a ban on overseas employment for citizens of North Korea,” the message reads.
In addition, Washington offers to impose an embargo on oil supplies to the DPRK and a ban on the export of textiles from the country.
Earlier, on 4 September, during an emergency meeting of the UN security Council, convened in connection with Pyongyang’s test of a hydrogen bomb, the U.S. permanent representative Nikki Haley said that he hoped the adoption of a resolution prior to September 11. However, two permanent members of the UN security Council with veto power, China and Russia argue that the introduction of new sanctions against the DPRK is inefficient and may lead to further escalation of the crisis.
